CSCC Development
Foundation Scholarship Booklet for Academic Year 08-09 comes out Monday,
June 16
The Development Foundation scholarship booklet will be released at a
later date this year so that the Foundation can award more scholarships
to more students. The Booklet will be available online at this page and
at the financial aid department beginning June 16. The application
deadline will be August 1.
Walter J. Knapp
Scholarship
In September 2004, The Columbus Foundation announced that CSCC was one
of four Ohio colleges selected to receive Walter J. Knapp Scholarship
funds. This scholarship is designed to supplement existing financial aid
awards.
Eligible applicants must be Ohio residents,
plan to attend CSCC as a full-time student and have demonstrated
financial need via the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student
Aid. Columbus State will award up to fifteen (15) $1000 scholarships for
2008-2009.
No fax copies will be accepted. It is the
applicant’s responsibility to insure that the application is completed
and submitted on time. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be
considered.
The application deadline is July 1, 2008.
Coca-Cola Scholars
Foundation Two-Year Colleges Scholarship
Since 2000, The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has provided over 400
scholarships to students attending two-year degree granting
institutions. The Foundation’s criteria to select recipients include a
heavy emphasis on commitment to community service, academic performance
and personal leadership.
CSCC has been asked to nominate one student for consideration for the
2008-2009 scholarship

The nominated student must meet the
following qualifications to be considered for nomination:

Have been admitted to Columbus State
Community College with planned enrollment for the Autumn 2008
quarter (at least 6 credit hours); and
-
Must be U.S. citizens or permanent
residents; and
-
Must have demonstrated academic success
(minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 or better as of April 1, 2008); and
-
Must have engaged in community service
between May 1, 2007 through April 30, 2008 AND provide verification
from a coordinator/supervisor of work/service completed
Applications will not be considered for those
students who:

Cannot verify citizenship status
-
Are children or grandchildren of Coca-Cola
employees
-
Are scheduled to graduate from CSCC before
December 31, 2008

Teacher Quality
Enhancement Scholarship Program
The Teacher Quality Enhancement (TQE) Scholarship Program is for
Columbus State students who desire a teaching career in mathematics or

Outside Scholarships
Many other organizations grant scholarships. Many of them are posted at
the Financial Aid office, and the Ohio Board of Regents maintains a list
of scholarships. You must notify the Financial Aid office of any
external scholarships you receive.
