Requesting an Official Columbus State Transcript
An "official" transcript is a record of the courses completed and marks/grades received at Columbus State Community College, including transfer credit. Transcripts are printed on security paper and includes the Registrar’s signature and the date issued or are sent securely through electronic means to moderated email boxes or specific recipients. Students may also download their own copy of an "unofficial" transcript through their Self-Service portal or through alternate directions listed below.
"Unofficial" transcripts are considered unofficial because they are generated by the student and not provided through secure connections or delivery. Please check with your intended recipient or receiving institution on their required delivery method first. For more information on how to obtain your unofficial transcripts, please go to the Unofficial Transcripts section below.
Students who have completed course work at Columbus State may request an official transcript in the following ways:
- Students who have completed coursework for a grade that was assigned college credit should request an official transcript through Parchment Transcript Services.
- Students who have completed course work that was not assigned college credit should request a transcript through the Noncredit Transcript Request Process.
Parchment Transcript Services
Official transcripts that record a student's completed courses and grades assigned for college level credit may be ordered by a student and/or third-party as necessary. All orders for official transcripts must be made through Parchment Transcript Services.
Important Information Regarding Transcript Orders
- The price for a standard electronic transcript begins at $7.75. Additional pricing and delivery options are available. Students can view those options and prices on Parchment. Payment must be made using a credit or debit card. There are no options for cash payments or payment via check or money order for transcripts through Parchment.
- "In Progress" course work (courses that you are currently taking but have not yet completed) and future course registrations are NOT published on the official transcript. If you have not yet completed course work at CSCC, but you need to provide verfication of course enrollment, please visit our Verification page. If you need to verify in progress or future course work, you may can provide copies of that information through your CSCC Self-Service portal.
- A transcript issued directly to a student either on paper or electronically will not necessarily be considered "official" for transfer or related purposes. Students should check with the receiving institution on how to best send your transcript or you may order it to be sent electronically DIRECTLY to the college or university.
- A transcript request will not be processed if the student has a restriction on their record. The student will be notified immediately if there is a hold on their record that must be addressed before the request may be submitted. An outstanding balance will not prevent students from ordering and receiving official Columbus State Community College transcripts.
- Transcripts may be sent immediately or you may select options to hold the transcript until grades and/or a degree is posted. Students may submit a request for an official transcript to be sent immediately and all grades up until the previous semester will be posted on the transcript. Alternately, students can select to "hold" the transcripts for grades and in this case the transcript will be released once it is verified that all of a student's grades are posted for the current semester. Students may also opt to "hold" a transcript until a degree is posted. In this situation, the official transcript is released once graduation has been verified by the college. The options may be selected in Parchment when the transcript is ordered.
