Access Concerns or Feedback?
CSCC's Department of Accessibility Services strives to maintain an accessible and welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities. If you have complaints or concerns regarding an experience accessing or registering for accommodations, interacting with staff/faculty, visiting our facilities, or using our services, please review the processes below to determine next steps.
Concerns related to situations that occurred 30+ days prior are significantly more difficult to address. We encourage you to share the details of your experience regardless of when it occurred. Please understand, however, that how we are able to address the issue may be impacted.
- The first step is for students to discuss concerns with their assigned Access Advisor. If you are unsure who your Access Advisor is, or if you are not registered with our office, email disability@cscc.edu with your name and Cougar ID, and we'll help connect you.
- If you and your Access Advisor are unable to reach a resolution, the student may consult with an Accessibility Services administrator. Your Access Advisor can help connect you, or you can visit https://www.cscc.edu/services/disability/contact-us.shtml for contact information.
- After working with Accessibility Services administration, if a satisfactory resolution is still not reached, the student may choose to notify CSCC's Compliance Office by submitting an online report at https://www.cscc.edu/about/equity-compliance/. Compliance Office staff will review your report and reach out to you to discuss next steps.
- If the concern is not able to be resolved at CSCC, the student may choose to file a complaint with the Federal Office for Civil Rights, The Ohio Civil Rights Commission or Disability Rights Ohio (formerly the Ohio Legal Rights Service). These entities will take complaints and will investigate when appropriate.
Note: While we are always mindful of student privacy, specific parties may be contacted in order to resolve issues related to accessibility, and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and campus community.
