Languages & Communication, Language Institute relocating to Preferred Pathway partner space at Franklin University
Update | Monday, February 10, 2025
Effective Summer Semester 2025, classes and offices for the Languages & Communication academic department, including the Language Institute, will be relocated to Phillips Hall at Franklin University, 303 S. Grant Ave. (Phillips Hall is at the corner of Grant Avenue and E. Main Street, one mile southwest of the Columbus Campus. See the map. Use parking lot D.)
While the move is spurred by construction projects on the Columbus Campus, it takes advantage of the synergies between these popular programs by housing them under one roof.
Relocating:
Language Institute
Non-Credit Registration Office
All non-credit BESL classes
Language Institute administrative offices
Languages & Communications
Communication, language, and credit English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
Faculty and departmental offices
Communication Center tutoring
ESL and Language tutoring
All students will still access all other services at Columbus State. Some sections of gateway and common math courses will also be held at the Phillips Hall space.
Our students will be able to access parking at Franklin University and will be close to several diverse downtown food options.
Look for more communication to come about the impacts and opportunities of this move.
