New Testing Center location during upcoming temporary closure

Update | Monday, December 2, 2024

The Testing Center in WD, room 223, will be closing for construction during Spring Semester. During that time, it will move to a temporary location in the lower level of Nestor Hall: rooms 011, 012, and 013. The temporary space will have fewer testing seats.

While the temporary space may be able to meet testing demand, if you have exams administered through Blackboard, please consider Virtual Testing with Respondus Monitor (RM). The virtual testing with the RM Program is a robust program with the protection of academic integrity as its foundation. The RM team is available to meet with instructors or departments to answer questions and provide an overview of the RM Program. Email VirtualTestingRM@cscc.edu to request an overview.

Information about virtual testing with RM and virtual proctoring with Zoom can be found on the Beyond Classrooms faculty webpage.

An additional assessment option to consider is Alternative Assessment (AA). If you are interested in using AA in your course, there are two interactive workshops that will be offered by the Faculty Professional Development Initiative (FPDI). Part one is “Getting Started with Alternative Assessment. Part two is “Applying Alternative Assessment in Your Classroom.” (Links to both sessions will be available in Update in January.)

While this temporary move may pose challenges, the resulting reconstructed WD Testing Center of one large testing lab with increased computer stations, equaling that of Aquinas, will be well worth it for students, faculty, and staff.
