Impact of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program

Update | Monday, March 11, 2024

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Columbus State continues to have a positive community impact as applications are being taken for the next cohort. On Feb. 28, executives from Goldman Sachs, Babson College, and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) met with President Harrison and the Columbus State program team.

The purpose was to discuss the partnership impact. The 10,000 Small Businesses program recently graduated 25 local business owners from a variety of industries. To date, more than 70 small business owners who have completed the program account for total annual revenues of at least $112 million and the creation of more than 900 jobs.

The Columbus State program team is currently accepting applications for their sixth cohort, which will be held from Sept. 19 through Dec. 13. Local Business owners with a business operational for over two years, with $75,000 in sales revenue in the past year, and two or more employees (including the owner) may apply to join the free scholarship-based program. 10,000 Small Businesses focuses on helping owners create an actionable five-year growth plan, aiding in the growth of the local economy in Columbus and the surrounding areas. For additional information or to apply, see the 10,000 Small Businesses webpage.
