Update | Monday, July 1, 2024

Jerri Braswell, who was both a student and a student employee, has passed away. Braswell graduated from Columbus State in 2019 with an associate degree in early childhood development and education.

From 2017 to 2019, she made a difference in many lives as a student employee and mentor for the Columbus State Scholar Network Program. “She was a beacon of hope and change, passionately advocating for the foster care, student-parent, and first-generation communities," said Katrina de Los Santos, Student Engagement & Belonging supervisor. “Her joyful smile and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.” Braswell was a member of the former Student Engagement & Leadership Department, Women's Connection, TRiO Student Support Services, and Generation One Trailblazers.
