Six Columbus State HVAC students and two of their instructors participated in “Heat the Town” on Sept. 30. The annual event was sponsored by the Air Conditioning Contractors of Central Ohio and the Breathing Association of Central Ohio. The event provides heating safety and maintenance checks for more than 90 less fortunate residents of central Ohio who would otherwise be at risk for health problems from unsafe, improperly operated heating equipment. Heat the Town included HVAC service technicians from local heating contractors, wholesale supply houses, dozens of technicians, and students from local HVAC programs. It was the 12th year Columbus State students “paid it forward” to help the community while they received field experience.
