Nominate a student for the Society of the Compass

Nominations are now being accepted for students who embody the four fundamental creed values of the Society of the Compass: Nobility, Service, Wisdom, and Excellence.

Any faculty or staff member may submit a nomination form for any student who has graduated since Spring Semester 2023 or plans to graduate in the current academic year. This award is based on our four tenets, with Nobility and Service taken into special consideration.

Deadlines

• Faculty and staff nominations for a student are due by Friday, Feb. 2
• Students who are nominated must then apply by Friday, March 8.

All faculty and staff are welcome to nominate students who meet the following criteria:

1. Nominees must have completed at least 30 credit hours at Columbus State.

2. Nominees must be recent graduates of Columbus State (since Spring Semester 2023) or planning to graduate in the current academic year (Autumn 2023 or Spring 2024).

3. Nominees must be Columbus State students who, in your experience and professional opinion, have performed and behaved in a manner worthy of this exclusive group of students who serve their community or college, act in a manner that is noble in spirit, try to better themselves in all ways, and seek wisdom in all experiences.

The inductees will receive special recognition at Spring 2024 Commencement and will be honored as part of a Society of the Compass induction ceremony with President Harrison.
