Act now before Student Success Week

Update | Monday, December 4, 2023

Planning is underway for the next Student Success Week (SSW), which will be held Monday, Jan. 29, through Thursday, Feb. 1. Research has proven that student engagement correlates with increased learning outcomes. The Student Success Week goal is to inspire and support students, so they take the next steps in their academic journey.

There are two ways to get involved:

  • Host a table at the Weeks of Welcome Resource Fair on Tuesday, Jan. 30. (Reserve a table.)
  • Host a pop-up resource table during Student Success Week (Complete this form by Wednesday, Jan. 10.)

The SSW Committee is reserving pop-up information tables around each campus. These will be available during the day and select evening hours to serve evening students better.

To make the experience both engaging and interactive, we encourage you to consider the following ideas for the pop-up information tables:

Resource sharing
Share relevant resources, such as articles, videos, or tools, to complement your topic and give students valuable takeaways.

Collaborative activities
Incorporate collaborative activities that promote teamwork and communication among students.

Activities to promote self-care and caring for others
Set up activities that promote self-care and foster a sense of community through kindness and friendship.

Tech support and tech training activity tables
Provide assistance and training on tech-related topics to enhance students' digital literacy.

Developing successful habits
Offer information and activities related to counseling, physical fitness activities, tutoring, supplemental instruction, and academic coaching to help students build successful habits.

SSW welcomes teams and departments to share details of events they plan for the week. The events will be promoted along with table activities. Send information by Wednesday, Jan. 10 to Daniel Ebhodaghe, Tutoring student employee, at debhodaghe@cscc.edu or Shenna Drugan, Tutoring program coordinator, at sdrugan@cscc.edu.
