An Employee Resource Group (ERG) manager and an advisor for Advising and Career Services are the Full and Part-time Staff Employees of the Month (SEOM) announced at last week’s First Wednesday.
Liz Rose-Cohen is the full-time SEOM. She came to Columbus State in 2021, where she worked first worked in Marketing and Communications. She later transitioned into a new position in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as manager of the Employee Resource Groups. “Liz has enthusiastically and professionally embraced her new position as ERG manager,” said Primrose Igonor, director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the nominator. “She has not only revitalized the ERGS but also has been eager to assist them in brainstorming event ideas and helping execute the events. She has ensured their overall success.”
Advisor Allison deVerteuil came to Columbus State in 2012 and is the part-time SEOM for December. “It doesn’t seem possible she is only part-time,” said her nominator, Doug House. As an advisor, deVerteuil works directly with students. In his nomination, House said she went to respective faculty members to do a “deep dive” on each course and plan of study. “deVerteuil didn’t want to simply get an answer, she wanted to truly understand the programs and how the classes fit into the plans of study and industry.”
