How you can support Student Employee Appreciation Week April 11-15

Student Employee Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our student employees. It also raises awareness of the student employment experience. It also raises awareness of the student employment experience. It will be held Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15. If you have College Work-Study or Federal Work-Study students in your department, consider showing your appreciation directly.
Four different ways you can participate
1. Options for student employees in your department or those you know:
- Provide lunch: Have their favorite delivered or host them at Degrees
- Send a handwritten note sharing what you appreciate about them
- Hold a team gathering and allow everyone to share thanks
- Prepare a treat or snack bag
- Celebrate them on social media
- Anything else to let them know you appreciate them
2. Submit an appreciation video to the Daily Dose
Career Services is seeking 30 to 45-second videos from staff and faculty sharing a
brief thanks and appreciation for our student employees to be featured in an upcoming
Daily Dose special issue. Submit videos (shot horizontally) by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at this link.
Possible prompts to help you get started:
- I am thankful for our student employees because…
- My favorite thing about working with student employees is…
- My most memorable student employment moment is…
- I want to thank (names) for (overview of how they help their peers, the great work they do etc.)
- Anything else to share your celebration and thanks of student employees!
3. Share event schedule with student employees
Career Services has several events planned for the week, including a LinkedIn Lab
with professional headshots, Department Meet and Greet, Coffee at Blend, and a Mental

4. Support the 2022 Student Employment Awards
Join us on Wednesday, April 13 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the 2022 Student Employment Awards. Career Services will recognize Student
Employee teams and name the Student Employee of the Year and Student Employment Supervisor
of the Year. The event will be held in person and available on a livestream. Details and RSVP on CougarConnect.

JoVE expanded access

CARES Act GEER funds provided Ohio libraries - including the Columbus State Library - with access to select JoVE resources for the past two years. (JoVE is a producer and provider of science videos.) Through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), Columbus State Library was able to expand and extend this access through December 31, 2023.
