Wagner to receive training award

Professor Scott Wagner has been named the recipient of the 2022 Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Training Award by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Training Award by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. Wagner has been in law enforcement since 1981. He was hired as an adjunct instructor with the College in 1988 and has taught Police Academy and law enforcement criminal justice courses. The award is given to an individual annually for their contributions in education and training within the Ohio law enforcement realm. Wagner was nominated by Daniel Hare, associate professor in the Police Academy program. Outside the College, Wagner held a Peace Officer commission for many years with the Union County Sheriff’s Office. At that agency, he taught in-service training classes, served as a patrol deputy, and became the assistant team leader and team sniper on the Special Response Team. He also held a commission with the Baltimore, Ohio Police Department. Wagner will receive the award at the annual Ohio Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Conference on October 6 in Columbus. |
