The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Columbus State was recognized during the 30th Annual National Small Business Week on May 1. Columbus State’s SBDC was recognized at the event and received the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2022 Central and Southern Ohio Excellence and Innovation Award. This award recognizes Small Business Development Centers in Ohio that have made significant contributions to the economy and their communities.

“National Small Business Week is an opportunity to pay tribute to all small businesses that have pivoted beyond the pandemic with tenacity and resilience,” said Everett M. Woodel, Jr., U.S. SBA district director. “The award winners hailing from our district have excelled in business ownership or service to the small business community and have helped to grow our region’s economy, despite the many challenges they faced during the last year. We are proud to honor these awardees during this special week of recognition.”

“Small business owners are the heart and soul of Central Ohio’s economy, and our SBDC team is committed to providing entrepreneurs with the best guidance, support, and resources available to achieve the most successful business outcomes possible,” said Michael Bowers, director of the SBDC at Columbus State. “ We are honored to receive this award and acknowledgment.”
