UnitedHealthCare (UHC) expanding covered health services in 2023
Update | Monday, December 19, 2022
Employees participating in College-sponsored healthcare plans will have access to three additional services in early 2023. The following new services will become available at no additional premium costs to our employees:
- Gender affirmation services – Effective Feb. 1
- Fertility solutions services – Effective March 1
- Bariatric resources services – Effective March 1
Columbus State, in partnership with UHC, is committed to helping everyone navigate these and other healthcare needs with a compassionate and holistic approach. UHC-covered services include advocacy teams that are trained to guide employees and covered dependents through these new services.
“The inclusion of these new services will greatly improve the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families who need access to these care options,” said Rick Hatcher, vice president of administration. “This is an opportunity to close gaps in coverage that have systematically resulted in health disparities for members of our Columbus State family.”
Employees wishing to learn more about eligibility and requirements for these or other medical coverages should call the number on the back of their ID card and ask to speak with an advocate.
