DEIS live one-on-one online training for Spring Semester

Digital Education and Instructional Services (DEIS) has moved all virtual training sessions to Microsoft Bookings. This platform allows you to sign up for a personalized online workshop whenever it's convenient for your schedule. Work one-on-one with a DEIS staff member to address your specific needs and situation with a variety of Columbus State instructional technologies and pedagogical strategies.

You can set up a Booking for any of the following, which are all one-one sessions in Microsoft Teams:

Zoom Basics Part 1
Get an introduction to the fundamentals of installing and configuring Zoom as well as scheduling Zoom meetings using Blackboard, specific to your needs and situation. 

Zoom Basics Part 2
Further enhance your knowledge about hosting a Zoom meeting as well as sharing Zoom meeting recordings in your Blackboard courses, specific to your needs and situation

Zoom Breakout Rooms
Delve into Zoom's Breakout Rooms mode, specific to your needs and situation. 

Zoom Polls
Discover Zoom's real-time polling/surveying feature, specific to your needs and situation. 

Zoom Annotation/Whiteboard
Explore Zoom's whiteboard and live annotation features, specific to your needs and situation. 

Blackboard Consultation
Discuss any questions you have about Blackboard, specific to your needs and situation. 

Blackboard Workshops
Select from a variety of Blackboard training options — from Annotate to Time-Saving Techniques — specific to your needs and situation. 

Blackboard Grade Center
Get the answers to any questions you have about Blackboard Grade Center, specific to your needs and situation.

Alternative Assessments Consultation
Uncover the power of competency-based alternative assessments specific to your needs and situation. 

Course Design Consultation
Have a conversation about ways to enhance your online course with multimedia for active and collaborative learning, specific to your needs and situation. 

My Media Basics
Get an introduction to the fundamentals of My Media in Blackboard — such as uploading/downloading videos, updating videos, and embedding video content into your classes — specific to your needs and situation. 

My Media – Captions
Understand how to create and work with closed captioning in My Media in Blackboard, specific to your needs and situation. 

My Media – Video Editing
Enhance your knowledge of how to do basic video editing in My Media in Blackboard, specific to your needs and situation. 

My Media – Video Quizzes
Explore self-graded interactive video quizzes in My Media in Blackboard, specific to your needs and situation. 

Kaltura Capture Basics
Learn about the fundamentals of Kaltura Capture — such as downloading/installing it, making basic recordings, and easily putting those recordings into your Blackboard classes — specific to your needs and situation. 

Kaltura Capture Advanced
Discover the advanced features of Kaltura Capture — such as dual-video recordings and live screen annotation tools — specific to your needs and situation. 

Note:
The training itself is conducted in Microsoft Teams. If you don't have Teams on your computer, you can download and install it from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app

Once you have opened the program, you should be able to sign into it the same way you do for Columbus State email access or Blackboard access.

After you are signed into Teams, and it’s time for your training, to join your session:
1) Click the Calendar icon in the left-side menu
2) In the Calendar grid to the right, click anywhere inside the training appointment box
3) In the pop-up window that appears, click the Join button.
