Welcoming back students

Student Engagement and Inclusion is planning for the arrival of students with various activities connected to Weeks of Welcome (WOW) during the first four weeks of the semester.

Week 1
Employees who are part of the Welcome Team will be stationed around campus during the first week of classes to help students navigate the Columbus Campus.  

Week 2 
Virtual Resource Fair – September 6-10
Follow Student Engagement & Inclusion on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to get a sneak peek of new College updates and campus resources throughout the week.

Virtual Zumba Session – Wednesday, September 8 from 2-2:30 p.m.
You may join Nichole “Dr. Nic” Bowman-Glover for a Zumba session on Zoom.

Week 3
In-person Resource Fair – Tuesday, September 14 from noon-2 p.m.
Held in the Courtyard, the Resource Fair will allow students to be able to explore great opportunities and resources Columbus State has to offer. In addition, they will be able to meet students and staff who can help them make the most of the student experience. Games, music, and free giveaways will also be included.

In-person Zumba Session – Tuesday, September 14 from 12:30-1 p.m.
Students and staff can stop by the resource fair to take part in a live, outdoor Zumba session with Nichole “Dr. Nic” Bowman-Glover.

Week 4

UPDATE: New date: Due to a recent rise in COVID-19 cases, along with rain in the forecast for the original date of Wednesday, September 22, MajorFest has been rescheduled. The NEW date is  Wednesday, September 29 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. This event will be held in the Courtyard. Students will be able to meet academic advisors, faculty, and alumni associated with the academic departments at Columbus State to learn about the wide variety of majors and programs of study available.
