Two chemistry majors receive award

Update | Tuesday, June 15, 2021

The Columbus Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) provides awards to outstanding Chemistry Majors each year. Typically, this award only goes to juniors and seniors at four-year colleges. However, they included Columbus State this year for the first time. The award for 2021 Outstanding Chemistry Student of the Year went to two second-year Columbus State students pursuing AS degrees with a concentration in Chemistry, nominated unanimously by their chemistry professors:

  • John Wilke
  • Sahar Hjazeen

Each student received a certificate and monetary gift of $250 from the ACS.
