Longtime Library office associate retiring

Shona Wainwright NicolLongtime Library office associate retiring After serving Columbus State in the Library for more than 30 years, Shona Wainwright Nicol will retire on September 30. Nicol came to the College in 1988. She has been an office associate and administrative assistant for three library directors.

Tracy Kemp, interim director of the Library, says, “For many years Shona has coordinated the Library gallery space, providing the campus with many engaging exhibits.” 

In addition to supporting the Library, Nicol has been involved in the campus community, taking minutes for the Faculty Senate, serving on Staff Council, the Benefits Committee, and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She was a regular volunteer for Taste the Future in its early years. In her retirement, Nicole says she plans to enjoy time with her eight grandchildren and traveling with her husband. Kemp adds, “The Library team is grateful for Shona's steadfast support over 32 years, and her colleagues congratulate her on a well-deserved retirement.”
