Banned Books Week events

The Columbus State Library is hosting a virtual Banned Books Week starting today, September 28 through Friday, October 3. Banned Books Week is celebrated to bring awareness to the First Amendment rights of authors and readers.

The Library’s virtual experience will include trivia, a banned book virtual art contest, a #bookcoverdouble photo challenge, and recipe videos inspired by food in banned books.

Banned Book Virtual Art Contest:

  • Use your craftiness and art skills to design your own original banned book cover!
  • Art can be digital, or a photo of your painting or sketch
  • Post your art to social media, tag us @cscc_library and use the hashtag #bannedbooksweek
  • Open to current students, faculty, and staff 
  • No entry limit! Have fun!

Book Cover Photo Challenge

  • Use your imagination to recreate and photograph a banned #bookcoverdouble
  • Tag us @cscc_library and tag your photo with #bookcoverdouble
  • #bannedbooksweek on social media so everyone can enjoy and join in the fun.
  • Open to current students, faculty, and staff
  • No entry limit! 😊 Have fun!
