Update | Thursday, October 31, 2019
Information Technology is now offering three new training sessions and one returning session. They are all open to faculty and staff.
New: Excel Basics – Getting Started with Formulas: Excel is a spreadsheet program allowing you to store and analyze information. One
popular feature is the ability to complete calculations and summarize your data. In
this hands-on training, we will discuss the basics of how to create simple formulas,
use built-in functions, and discuss absolute and relative cell references. If you
want to get started with Excel data analysis and math, this session is for you.
Tuesday, November 5 from 10-11:15 a.m.
Friday, December 6 from 10:15-11:30 a.m.
NEW: Excel Basics – Drop-Down lists and charts: Using drop-down lists for data entry in Excel can help ensure your information is
consistent and easy to summarize later. Excel allows for the creation of charts and
graphs that can help you visually represent your data. In this hands-on training,
we will discuss how to create a drop-down list, the benefits of using a table for
source data, and how to create and customize a chart. If you want to get started with
these two features, this is the session for you.
Wednesday, November 20 from 10-11 a.m.
Friday, December 6 from 9:00-10 a.m.
New: Introduction to OneNote: Tired of flipping through pages of notes to find what you need? OneNote is a digital
notebook that can help you streamline your work and easily share it with others. Use
OneNote to manage projects or take meeting minutes. Enhance your notes with multimedia
and use search options to find what you need quickly. Integration with Outlook and
other office tools can streamline your productivity. Join IT for this hands-on session.
Wednesday, November 13 from 1-2:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 14 from 10-11:30 a.m.
Tuesday, December 3 from 10-11:30 a.m.
Managing incoming mail in Outlook: Do you want to learn more about email management in Outlook? Join our session to
learn how to organize incoming emails and customize the appearance of your inbox.
This hands-on training is designed for users who have mastered the basic features
of the Outlook Desktop application. Topics include rules, conditional formatting,
categories, and search folders.
