‘When East Meets West’ set for Nov. 8

The Humanities Department symposium “When East Meets West: No Peace, No Unity: The ‘End’ of the Korean War and Its Legacy (1953-2023),” will be held virtually.

  • “Legacies of the Korean War: The Korean War is both over and not over” will be presented by David Fields of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
  • "Renegades of Socialism: What North Korea Learned from the Collapse of the Soviet Union” will be presented by Benjamin Young of Virginia Commonwealth University.

The event is possible through a partnership with Columbus State and The Ohio State University. It is co-sponsored in part by a U.S. Department of Education Title VI grant to The Ohio State University East Asian Studies Center. 

When East Meets West will be presented virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Register here to attend.
