Five Columbus State students selected through the Civil Rights Writing Competition have returned from their bus excursion through historic civil rights locations.

The Student Engagement & Inclusion Department sponsored the event. The writing competition winners and one staff member attended the Civil Rights Heritage Tour of the South. Students traveled more than 1,800 miles to monumental places representing the Civil Rights Movement.

The trip included tours through Ripley Ohio, Atlanta, Tuskegee, Selma, Birmingham, Montgomery, Memphis, Mississippi, and Louisville, Kentucky. Learn more here about the Civil Right Heritage Tours.
