December 1 deadline for HEERF funds

Student News | Monday, November 21, 2022

Columbus State is re-opening the application for Emergency Assistance funded by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF/CARES) one last time. Students with emergency needs related to the cost of attendance can submit an application beginning Wednesday, November 23 at this link. The application will be open from Wednesday, November 23 at 8 a.m. until Thursday, December 1 at 11:59 p.m.

For a student to be eligible for this grant, they must be taking classes during the current term and be enrolled at the time funds are disbursed. Funds can be applied toward Autumn Semester balances or other emergency needs, including food, health care, utilities, and housing. Grant amounts will vary based on the needs identified in the application. All applications will be reviewed. Funds are limited; students may not receive funds to cover all identified needs.

If a student has already received a HEERF/CARES grant this term, they are eligible to reapply for this final round of emergency assistance. CARES/HEERF grants previously disbursed this term will be taken into consideration when determining award amounts.
