MakerX to feature Columbus State program

The second annual MakerX festival is just a few weeks away. For the second year in a row, Columbus State's Engineering Technology program will one of more than 80 exhibits. Each exhibitor shares their passion for creating with technology, including robotics, competitive drone flying, video game and virtual reality projects, digital art and music, 3D printing, high-tech transportation, sci-fi themed cosplay, inventions, and more.

Engineering Technology will provide hands-on activities relating to career paths in the field. Evelyn Van Til, director for Tech Talent South says, “MakerX is a unique event that inspires innovation across verticals and industries. You see people creating solutions in virtual reality, healthcare, gaming, robotics and coding, digital design and transit. It's a truly remarkable event connecting STEM education, startups, leaders in technology, and the larger community.”

Maker X will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Buckeye Building at the Ohio Expo Center at the State Fairgrounds, 717 E. 17th Ave., Columbus. Tickets are $5 for ages 5 and older when purchased online at www.makerx.org. Tickets at the door are $8. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
