Join the Student Conduct Hearing Board

The Office of Student Conduct is looking for Columbus State students, faculty, staff, and administrators to join the Student Conduct Hearing Board (SCHB). Representation on the SCHB allows you to educate students on expectations, to maintain community standards, and to uphold the Student Code of Conduct.

SCHB meetings are convened by the Office of Student Conduct for either of two reasons:

1. When an alleged violation of the Student Code of Conduct that is severe enough to warrant potential suspension or expulsion.
2. When a student denies responsibility for an allegation(s) or disputes the sanctions proposed by an Administrative Hearing Officer in non-suspension level situations.

  • The opportunity to practice critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • The opportunity to demonstrate commitment to your campus community and provide a valuable service to the College

Successful applicants must select and attend a required training session. Members are asked to be available to participate in two or three board meetings each semester. Hearing Boards typically occur from 2:00-4:00 p.m. during the work week.
