Shelbey Mitchell

Shelbey Mitchell, M.S.W., L.I.S.W.-S is a Licensed Independent Social Worker located at the Columbus State Delaware campus through a partnership with Syntero Inc. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Mount Union and her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University with a focus in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Shelbey has been working with Syntero Inc. since 2015. Along with her role at Columbus State, Shelbey is a member of the Syntero Inc. school based prevention team in the Dublin district at Coffman High School as well as the Community Crisis Response Team. Over the last four years she has provided outpatient mental health counseling to adults, children, families, and couples working through a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal concerns, and general stress. Shelbey also works for the Ohio Health Behavioral Health department where she performs mental health assessments in the emergency department. “I have always been passionate about working with young adults and am thrilled to be a part of the Columbus State family. College is a pivotal time in our lives that allows for us to grow and explore who we are and who we want to become. I believe in an individualistic approach to counseling that allows others to explore what unique skills they can use to achieve their goals."
Dylan D’Emilio
Counselor Trainee – Columbus Campus
Dylan D’Emilio, is a Counselor Trainee (CT) supervised by Ezekiel Peebles, for Student Wellbeing – Counseling Services. He is currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Ohio State University. He also attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate studies, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Business. Dylan also earned a Certificate in Leadership from the Dean’s Leadership Academy at Ohio State.
Dylan is excited to be working with students at Columbus State and welcomes a wide range of clients. “I am particularly passionate about working with college students and athletes. I enjoy the college population because it is an exciting time for self-discovery and personal growth. Athletics has been a major part of my life, as I am currently on The Ohio State wrestling team. My counseling foundation stems from a person-centered and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach. My hopes for my clients are to help foster mental-wellness and a positive life experience.”
