About:
Loretta Wicks is from Lorain, Ohio and came to Columbus to attend graduate school
at The Ohio State University, earning both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology.
Loretta, interestingly enough, commenced her professional career at Columbus State
in 1989, serving as an adjunct faculty member. She later became a faculty member
at DeVry University, ultimately serving in the role of Senior Professor in Psychology.
During her tenure at DeVry, she realized that “teaching is not just teaching”, but
one of “ministry”. Loretta is passionate about “serving” students, helping them to
realize their full potential.
In 2015, she returned to Columbus State as an adjunct faculty member and currently
serves in the role of CCP-ACF, affording her the opportunity to teach in the high
school environments. During her first semester at Dublin Emerald, she was honored
by her students and recognized as Teacher of the Month (November 2022).
In addition to teaching, Loretta and her husband, Monty, are the facilitators of the
Marriage and Family Enrichment Ministry at her local church.
