Massage Therapy Student Clinic
Union Hall, Room 147
The Columbus State Massage Therapy Clinic is a student-run clinic that is a part of the massage therapy program's curriculum, and allows the students an opportunity to work in a real-world setting while also fine-tuning their massage skills. The clinic offers 60-minute full-body Swedish relaxation massage to current faculty, students and staff for only $10.
The clinic does not accept cash, but massage vouchers can be purchased in the Cashier's Office located on the second floor in Rhodes Hall (you must bring your current CSCC ID). Massage voucher and Cougar ID must be brought with you at the time of your appointment. If this is your first time visiting the clinic this semester, we recommend you arrive 5-10 minutes early in order to fill out a brief health history form.

About Our Massages
Massage therapy provides numerous benefits, including, but not limited to:
- Decrease stress, anxiety, and depression
- Increase joint flexibility
- Relief for overworked and tight muscles
- Improve circulation
- Enhance the immune system
- Improve the condition of the skin
By taking advantage of the student clinic here at Columbus State, not only will you benefit from the numerous health advantages of massage, but the clinic is significantly more cost-effective (most 60-minute relaxation massages cost at least $60 versus $10 in the clinic), and it allows the students an opportunity to continue their education and advance their skills to be prepared to gain employment upon graduation.
What to Expect
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out a brief health history form and waiver. Your student therapist will escort you to your private massage room to discuss your health history form and goals for your massage. The therapist will then exit the room and give you a few minutes to undress to your comfort level (typically down to bottom underwear) and get on the table. After knocking, the therapist will return to the room and begin the massage.
During the massage, the clinic supervisor may quietly enter the room to observe the student therapist for a few minutes. The supervisor is there to answer questions for the student, observe their techniques, and offer suggestions as they see appropriate; pay no mind to them and continue enjoying your massage!
The full-body Swedish massage includes work on the scalp, face, neck, chest, abdomen, arms and hands, legs and feet, back, and hips. If you would like the therapist to skip any of these areas, just let them know. Please keep in mind that the clinic only offers relaxation massage and the students will not be doing any deep work or special requests.
