Art
Welcome to Art Courses at Columbus State Community College. These courses are designed to offer you the basic visual language they need to start your arts studies, or simply to allow you to appreciate art.
Our courses allow you to put art within its cultural and historical context. We do not offer a degree in art, but many students take arts courses as a way to build up their portfolios before going to art school. Also, our classes count as electives toward your Associate of Arts or Associate of Sciences Degree.
Art Facilities
Our recently renovated Drawing Studio and Design Studios provide an ideal setting for students to hone their creativity.
Design Studio
Our Design Studio saw some serious design itself. The studio features vaulted ceilings, painting stations, two cleaning stations, a light table. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, or professionally-designed light fixtures allow us to carefully control the view.
Drawing Studio
Our Drawing Studio is one of the top studios among community colleges in the area. It also features vaulted ceilings, large windows and design-quality lighting. In addition, it includes lockable storage areas for portfolios and a large stockpile of items for composing still life images.
Student Work
Students work in various mediums, creating two and three dimensional as well as time based work.
