Honors Program Application

Honors Program Scholarship
Students admitted to the Honors Program will be considered for a scholarship up to
$2,000 per academic year, renewable for two years.
Eligibility Criteria
Incoming students
Incoming students must meet at least ONE of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for admission to the Columbus State Honors Program:
- An overall high school GPA of 3.5 or greater (on a 4.0 scale)
- Score of 25 or greater on the ACT
- Score of 1150 or greater on the SAT (Critical Reading & Math only)
- Qualifying Columbus State Placement Test scores: ALEKS math placement score of 58 or greater, Accuplacer reading score of 80 or greater & writing score of 6 or greater, and science score of 30 or greater.
NOTE: These are only minimum qualifications for applicants. Meeting one or more of these criteria does not guarantee admission to the Columbus State Honors Program.
CCP students
Students taking classes as part of the CCP program are eligible for admission to the Honors Program, but are not eligible to receive the Columbus State Honors Program Scholarship. CCP students must meet the following criteria for admission to the Columbus State Honors Program:
- Meet the eligibility criteria for incoming students; and
- Be able to attend Honors courses and co-curricular events at Columbus campus.
Current students
Current students must meet at least ONE of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for admission to the Columbus State Honors Program:
- Completed at least 15 hours of college-level coursework with a GPA of 3.4 or greater both overall and in all college-level courses at Columbus State.
- Be nominated by a Columbus State faculty member.
NOTE: These are only minimum qualifications for applicants. Meeting one or more of these criteria does not guarantee admission to the Columbus State Honors Program. Applicants who have made significant progress in their plan of study and who have completed all or most of the courses offered through Honors may not be eligible for admission to the Columbus State Honors Program.
