College Credit Plus & Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services is dedicated to ensuring that students with disabilities enrolled in College Credit Plus courses have access to appropriate accommodations, including classroom and testing accommodations.
Students with a documented disability must register with Columbus State's Accessibility Services in order to be allowed to use accommodations in College Credit Plus courses. Accommodations provided by an IEP or 504 plan do not apply in a College Credit Plus course.

How to Register with Accessibility Services
1. Submit Disability Documentation
This will most likely be the student's IEP and ETR or 504 plan.
- Email documentation to disability@cscc.edu
- Fax documentation to 614-287-6054
2. Schedule an Intake Interview/Welcome Meeting
- We are conducting Intake Interviews in person and/or virtually. Once you place into a CCP course, your Access Advisor will contact you via email to set up a time and date for the Intake Interview.
- During the intake, we will create an accommodation plan that can be used by the student to receive services while taking College Credit Plus classes.
A Note about Placement Tests
If you plan to take your placement test at a Columbus State Testing Center (not at your high school), and need accommodations other than extended time, it is very important to send your documentation (IEP/ETR, 504 Plan, etc.) to Accessibility Services (disability@cscc.edu) at least a week before you plan to take your tests.
How to Use Accommodations in Your Classes
In order for you to utilize your approved accommodations, you must provide a copy of your Letter of Accommodation (LOA) to your College Credit Plus instructors. Your Letter of Accommodation will be emailed to you after your intake appointment.
If your CCP classes take place at your high school, you should also provide your Intervention Specialist, Guidance Counselor, or other appropriate staff member with a copy of your Letter of Accommodation, so you can discuss how your accommodations will be provided at that site. If any issues arise, you can ask your Intervention Specialist to call your Access Advisor to discuss how to resolve them.
Why can't I just use my IEP or 504 plan for my CCP classes?
Guidance on Placement Test Process for High School Staff/Administration
Students requiring accommodations for placement tests proctored at their high school, need to submit a Placement Test Accommodation Request Form (.docx) to Accessibility Services along with their disability documentation. These can be emailed to disability@cscc.edu or faxed to 614-287-6054.
After reviewing the documentation, Accessbility Services will notify New Student Assessment what accommodations the student is approved to use on their placement test. New Student Assessment will then provide the high school with an Accommodation Approval sheet for each student, along with all other testing materials.
Please refer to the Placement Test Accommodation Guide when administering Columbus State's placement tests at your high school. Note that providing accommodations to students on placement tests that are not first approved by Accessibility Services could invalidate the student's placement test scores.
