From a young age, Digital Art, Media, and Design Professor Gene Strickland has been drawn to creative expression. His fascination with photography, drawing, and painting took hold early, winning him numerous art contests from elementary school through high school.

Faculty Focus: Nick Shay

From an early age, Nick Shay was exposed to higher education in his family. His grandfather, Ron Shay, spent 38 years as a teacher, football coach, Dean of Boys, and development director at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus. (An Ohio State University graduate, Ron had been the captain of the OSU baseball team in the 1950s as he pursued his own degree.) While Ron was clearly a role model for what would lead to Nick's career as an educator, it could have also led to a different career route.

Winter Break 2024-2025

Columbus State Community College will be closed for Winter Break from Wednesday, Dec. 25, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Registration for classes will be available online during the break.
