Theatre Columbus State will perform two one-act plays by Ellen Byron. “Graceland” is set at the front entrance of the late Elvis Presley’s Memphis Graceland mansion three days before it is to be opened to the public.

Two fans – Beau and Rootie – are camped out, determined to be the first to enter. “Asleep on the Wind” is set ten years before “Graceland” in a small clearing in Bayou Teche, Louisiana.

Directed by Colleen Cunningham, the plays will be performed Wednesday, Oct. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. nightly at the Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave., Columbus. Admission is free. Watch the 55-second video trailer.
