Discover Columbus State Week: live virtual visits for students and parents

Campus News | Thursday, May 7, 2020

With the coronavirus pandemic preventing on-campus visits for potential students, Columbus State is thinking outside the box by bringing the campus to students. During the week of May 11-15, live interactive webinars will be offered on many aspects of higher education as part of the inaugural Discover Columbus State Week.

More than a simple presentation, the live sessions will include question-and-answer opportunities for students and parents. No matter where they are in their educational journey, they will have a front-row seat to discover the benefits of a cost-effective Columbus State education.

Sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. College leaders, faculty, staff, and students will host the live webinars. A sample:

  • Professors in IT, healthcare, supply chain, logistics, and more will provide guidance on in-demand degree programs and career tracks
  • Admissions and transfer experts map out pathways to four-year universities
  • Financial aid team members show how college can be affordable for everyone
  • Highlights of the Honors Program and scholarships in STEM, healthcare, and more
  • Parents can talk with President David Harrison, Ph.D., and a panel of senior leaders and faculty about how Columbus State opens doors
  • Talk with current students and young alumni about their Columbus State experience
  • Recently unemployed or under-employed workers can discover accelerated certificate programs to get a career back on track quickly and affordably.

Anyone can register for these free sessions and attend as many as they choose. Admissions and enrollment teams will be available for individual consultation and appointments.
