Campus Events
The Office of Student Engagement and Belonging host and co-sponsors a variety of events each academic year. These events vary from smaller workshops to large, college-wide celebrations.
Some of the programming you can get involved in includes:
- Cougar Weeks of Welcome (Wow): We know how important the first few weeks of the semester are for students to become familiar with the college, learn about resources, and begin getting engaged in extra-curricular experiences. Check out some great WoW in-person and virtual programming including: Welcome team, Resource Fairs, Fall Festival, and more!
- Collegiate Leadership Conference of Ohio (CLCO): Every autumn, the Student Ambassador Leadership Program (SALP) puts on a leadership conference for college students across the state of Ohio right here at Columbus State. This is a great place to hear from college and local speakers about ways you can develop your leadership potential, as well as connect with other students at the college and from other institutions.
- Cultural Events: SEB loves to celebrate the diversity of our college community by hosting and co-sponsoring events that celebrate many of the identities and experiences found at Columbus State. These include events that celebrate International Education Week, Black History month, Women's Herstory Month, LGBTQ+ Pride, and more! Many of our student clubs and campus partners also host great cultural events throughout the year as well.
- Educational Workshops: Whether you want to learn more about how to use Cougar Connect, improve your financial literacy, or practice holistic wellness, we have you covered. SEB partners with college and community experts to bring you opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills around a variety of subjects. Join one of our many pathways on Cougar Connect & complete a series of connected workshops and events to earn various incentives and credentials.
- Spring Fling: This is one of the most fun events at Columbus State. Spring Fling is a time where the whole college community joins together in the Columbus campus courtyard for a giant resource fair, games, inflatables, food, giveaways, and more. At this event you can also sign up for opportunities before the next school year and unwind a little from the busy school year.
These are just a few examples of the different engagement programs and events you can expect to find at the college. There are also some great offerings at our Delaware campus and Regional Learning Centers. We encourage you to check out Cougar Connect to see what's coming up at all of our locations and to register for one or more of these great activities.
