Thousands raised for book scholarships at 4th annual Cougar Challenge 5K

Runners at the Columbus State Cougar Challenge 5K last Saturday morning enjoyed the best weather ever for the annual springtime event. It was held for the first time at Creekside Gahanna where runners and walkers followed an adjoining scenic, wooded course.

More than 100 faculty, staff, students and area residents signed up to take part. President Harrison and his wife Tracy were among those turning out to support the cause which raised $3,250 for book scholarships.

The event included a short fun run for children prior to the race. Brett Welsh, director of Global Diversity and Inclusion, was the fastest Columbus State employee, finishing seventh overall with a time of 20:07.

You can check out the times and places of all runners and walkers online here.
