 About this course

Seven to ten days in Jamaica

Students spend seven to ten days (usually in the Summer Break in June or Fall Break in September) in Jamaica and experience what it is like to stay in the world-renowned marine  biology laboratories in Discovery Bay Jamaica.  The study abroad program to Discovery Bay is open to all students, however space is limited.  Students should be strong swimmers, interested in diving, and not be afraid of the sea.

Two sequence course

This is a two-sequence course in Marine Science.  The first course, Biology 104 is offered on campus in an eight (8) week format.  It includes lectures and laboratories, and it is not a perquisite for Biology 105.  The second course, Biology 105, is a field course conducted at the Discovery Bay Marine Biology Laboratory in Jamaica.  Both courses can be taken in any sequence.  Contact Dr. John Francis at jfrancis@cscc.edu or 614-287-5925, for trip dates.

This course is offered in an eight (8)or ten (10) week format.
