Testing Services - Guidelines and Best Practices for Faculty
Before each semester, an Excel Spreadsheet will be sent out to all departments for
faculty to indicate proctoring needs for distance learning (Web) courses for the semester.
Once the completed spreadsheets are submitted, the Academic Testing Committee will
review. If any scheduling conflicts are identified, Instructors will be contacted
to work out an equitable solution. Faculty not contacted by the Academic Testing
Committee may assume requested exam proctoring in the Testing Center has been approved.
These courses/exams approved to utilize the Testing Center for proctoring services
will receive instructions on how to submit exams to the Testing and Testing Department
for the semester.
Testing Services now accepts exam submissions electronically through a new appointment and exam submission system called RegisterBlast. The streamlining of these practices will benefit students and faculty by providing more efficient services while increasing the integrity of the testing environment.
Faculty RegisterBlast Exam Submission
RegisterBlast Exam Submissions should be fully completed and submitted a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the test date. Students are asked to follow the 24-hour in advance appointment policy. You may access RegisterBlast by clicking on the RegisterBlast link in your Blackboard course under Course Tools.
Testing Software/Web Applications
Testing Services supports the following browsers and software programs:
- Browsers: Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
- Software: Blackboard, Respondus Lockdown Browser, Respondus Monitor, ALEKS, MyMathLab, HESI NG, Certiport
Homework
The Testing Center does not accept homework.
ID Policy
Students are required to present valid photo identification when reporting to the Testing Center: Examples of valid photo IDs include a current Cougar (Student) ID card, state issued ID, passport, work/school ID, or other legitimate ID bearing a photo and full name. IDs must be physical. Photos of IDs are not a valid form of identification. If an individual does not have identification or if the name on the ID does not match the name in the student's records, an exam will not be administered.
