David Flom Endowment Fund announced
Update | Friday, November 15, 2024
The Columbus State Foundation has announced the establishment of the David Flom Continuous Improvement in Cybersecurity, Information Systems Technology and Computer Science Endowed Fund. It is being created by his family to celebrate the memory of the remarkable teacher and quiet wit of Flom.
As a beloved member of the Columbus State Community College faculty, Flom had a unique knack for guiding students through the complexities of cybersecurity, information technology, and computer science – all with a bit of dry humor and a deeply genuine belief in his students’ potential.
Flom did not need the spotlight to make a difference. He spent his time empowering students, equipping them with the tools and confidence to tackle technical challenges, and encouraging them to find humor in the little things. This endowment will ensure that his legacy lives on, providing support to students in these fields with access to technology and hands-on learning opportunities that make education practical, engaging, and a bit of fun—just as he would have wanted.
Elicia Flom and her family pass along their deep gratitude to the many Columbus State family members who gathered to celebrate David’s life on Nov. 1. Those wishing to contribute to this fund in Flom’s honor can do so online at https://foundation.cscc.edu/ or learn about other Ways to Give. Together, we can continue his dedication to education, humor, and the boundless potential of each student.
