Amazon career graphicAmazon's Career Choice is an innovative program uniquely designed to upskill Amazon employees who are interested in pursuing a future outside of Amazon. By partnering with Columbus State to deliver education and training for high-demand careers, Amazon is proud to give eligible employees the funding they need to make a move and pursue their aspirations.

Amazon will pre-pay for eligible students to pursue noncredit Basic English classes, associate degrees or certificates at Columbus State. Funding—up to $5,250 per year for full-time employees and up to $2,625 per year for part-time employees—can be used for tuition, books, and mandatory fees. 

Update: Students pursuing Basic English courses are now eligible to receive their Career Choice benefits on day one of their employment at Amazon.  

Getting Started 

1. To see if you are eligible for the Career Choice benefit and view available Career paths, please visit: atoz.amazon.work/career_choice/

2. Apply for admission to Columbus State.

Credit programs and certificates

3. Register for a Placement Test

4. Meet with an academic advisor to choose your classes.

5. Apply for your payment request at atoz.amazon.work/career_choice/     

Submit tuition payment request online through the Amazon Career Choice portal at least one week prior to the start of classes.  

When submitting a Payment Request for credit courses please choose the correct area of study and click on the correspondent ”Request payment” link.

6. Pay your student share of tuition and buy your textbooks. Keep the receipt for reimbursement.

Non-credit Basic English courses:

3. Register for the Basic English Placement Test to determine your English level.

4. Apply for your payment request at atoz.amazon.work/career_choice/     

Submit tuition payment request online through the Amazon Career Choice portal at least one week prior to the start of classes.  

When submitting a Payment Request for non-credit English courses, please click “Request payment”  in the “Foundational skills programs” section.  

5. Buy your textbooks, and keep the receipt for reimbursement.

  • Is live in 14 countries (U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, South Africa, Costa Rica, Slovakia and Australia) with plans to expand into other international markets.
