Mike Bateman, coordinator in the Columbus State Bookstore, has put in a lot of extra hours in the last five months, according to his supervisor Luke Robson. When the position of Retail Sales Supervisor was vacant, Bateman handled staff scheduling, training and leadership of the sales floor in the Bookstore.  Robson nominated Bateman for Staff Employee of the Month. When the office associate in the Biological Sciences Department took an extended medical leave, Joanna Villanueve added the department’s duties to her own in the Physical Sciences—an overwhelming feat during a busy Summer Quarter leading to semester conversion.

Her hard work and dedication earned her the Staff Employee of the Month award, which was given July 5 in a surprise meeting attended by her two departments.

When Math professor Gary Rensi accidentally broke the glass top of an overhead projector at the Dublin Center, he panicked. But Site Coordinator Rachael Sanders came to his rescue, whisking the projector away while reassuring him that it would be promptly replaced.
