McGraw-Hill Education and Columbus State pilot customized training program

Students from McGraw-Hill Education present their Capstone Project at the completion of the 21st Century Skills course.
Earlier in June, 20 McGraw-Hill employees received a 21st Century Skills diploma from Columbus State after enhancing their leadership skills with curriculum customized for their company. The program was developed for McGraw-Hill by Columbus State’s Business and Industry division in Community Education and Workforce Development. Administrator Cheryl Hay worked with chair of the Business Programs Department, Angelo Frole to put together the curriculum.
Course topics included personal development, communication, working with others, dealing with change, professional development, and a capstone project where participants demonstrated lessons-learned in a real business context.
"This course dramatically improves teamwork as well as communication and presentation skills among co-workers, who finished the program with the knowledge they need to compete in the global, competitive workplace,” said Tim Williams, senior vice president Customer Operations for McGraw-Hill Education and Workforce Committee co-chair for the Columbus Regional Logistics Council.
