First in series of Candidate Forums for Senior VP to be held next week

Rhonda Richards, Ph.D.
The Search Committee for the position of Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs invites Columbus State employees to attend the upcoming candidate forums. The first forum will be with Rhonda Richards, Ph.D. Additional candidate forums will be announced as scheduled.
Dr. Richards is currently the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at West Virginia University at Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Nursing Department hosts conference

Nursing conference attendees filled the Conference Center Ballroom in the Center for Workforce Development.
The Columbus State Nursing Department held a conference for nurse educators Friday, February 4, coordinated by Barbara Kerr, Rita Krummen, Shirley Keckley, and Naomi Lee.
Nurses gathered from nursing programs and hospitals throughout the state to hear Dr. Linda Caputi, a well-known author and nurse educator, present “Strategies for Nursing Student Success.” Dr. Caputi shared many useable, effective teaching tools for clinical and classroom education.
The Social Sciences Department presents "Teaching with the iPad"
Mary Reiter will present a brown-bag session called "Teaching with the iPad" tomorrow (February 18) at noon in TL 114. Bring your iPad and your experience, and join the discussion. Reiter will share tips and techniques on using the iPad as a teaching tool both inside and outside the classroom.
Financial Wellness seminar offered February 23
Attend a session “Out of Hock, Out of Debt” from Education First Credit Union on Wednesday, February 23 from Noon-1 p.m. in WD 404. The session will also be broadcast to Moeller Hall Room 104 at the Delaware Campus. You can earn points toward both the Wellness Incentive Program and the Wellness Team Challenge for attending this event by sending your RSVP to Nichole Bowman-Glover, wellness coordinator or calling ext. 3989.


Columbus State will host the Ohio Academy of Sciences Central District Science Day on Saturday, March 19.
