Spend one minute during 60 Minutes
The long-awaited new television commercials for Columbus State Community College are about to be unveiled to the public. Be the first to view them as two of the six commercials air for the first time this Sunday during 60 Minutes. The ads will also run in prime time Sunday on America’s Got Talent.
Versions of the ads will air about 1,400 times throughout August.
The ads were produced by a team that included the college’s Institutional Advancement Department, Burkholder Flint advertising agency, Bob Egle Productions, Circa Music, and Advertising Coordinator Nancy Cleland managed the project.
The ads feature more than 100 students, faculty, staff and graduates. They were filmed over three days in May. Cameras returned to spring graduation to capture additional emotional moments.
The same production team created the last round of Columbus State commercials in the summer of 2008. Those segments won national and regional awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations – an organization representing marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges.
Institutional Advancement would like to thank everyone who made the filming—with its tight schedule—an overwhelming success. Just a sample: Faculty arriving at 6:00 a.m. to open labs, public safety rekeying doors for equipment storage, the physical plant staff quickly responding to electrical outages, landscape employees cutting the grass in between rain drops, faculty letting us invade their classrooms, central scheduling getting us rooms—and more rooms, faculty getting us into the surgery rooms at Mount Carmel Hospital and working late into the evening, faculty getting students to show up outside of class time, office associates opening labs and checking schedules and graciously helping out in many little ways. Every little bit helped!
The first two commercials – a 60 second spot and a 30 second spot - will air this coming Sunday, August 1, during the 60 Minutes broadcast on CBS and America’s Got Talent on NBC.
