Thomas Edison relative to sign her new book in DXSarah Miller Caldicott, great-grandniece of Thomas Edison, will sign copies of her new book “Innovate Like Edison,” at the Discovery Exchange on Tuesday, October 30, from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Caldicott wrote the book with Michael Gelb, bestselling author of “How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci.” In it, the authors translate the genius of Edison into a revolutionary new success system for innovation.

The book will be released October 25 and will be featured at the National Press Club Book Fair November 1.

Caldicott holds an M.B.A. from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. She is a 20-year marketing veteran.

Thomas Edison was the greatest innovator in American history. Edison’s focus on practical accomplishment set the stage for America’s global leadership in innovation.

 

Family Literacy Festival to be held Oct. 27The K-12 Initiatives Department will hold a Family Literacy Festival for children Pre K-5th grade along with their parents on Saturday, October 27, in the Nestor Hall Lounge.  There will be books, stories, a balloon artist, arts and crafts, face painting and much more. The event runs from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. All families are welcome to attend.

Sports newsNicole Loy has joined the Department of Student Activities and Athletics in a part-time capacity as an athletic assistant. She will be working with the Cougar student athletes and coaches concerning academic intervention and support.

Alumni Association to hold annual Breakfast with SantaMembers of the Columbus State Alumni Association will hold their annual Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 1, in the Columbus State Cafeteria, from 8:30–10:30 a.m.

Tickets are $10 per child, which includes their photo with Santa, refreshments, and activities. Adults are $9 each. Alumni Association members receive a dollar discount.
