Eligibility Requirements

Any American citizen or permanent resident student is eligible to participate in the Student Support Services Program if enrolled at Columbus State Community College and meets at least one of the following conditions:

  • “ First Generation”  college student ( neither parent has obtained a bachelor’s degree)
  • Family taxable income does not exceed federal level determined by the U.S. Department of Education  or
  • Student has a verifiable physical or learning disability



Required Class
 

* ASC 150  “Strategies for College Success” Course- 
This course is a mandatory course for first year and transfer students enrolled in the Student Support Services Program ( stated in your SSS “Enrollment Agreement”). This course will offer a dynamic curriculum to equip and prepare you for college success. This course is also a 5 credit hour course offered by Columbus State, and will go toward your electives. These courses will more than prepare and equip you for academic success.

 Skills “acquired”  from the ASC 150  course will allow the student to:

Prepare for exams
Research and write papers
Manage tasks/ time management
Make career decisions
Manage oneself and one’s life at college
