Retest
Students may retake the COMPASS Placement Test if trying to improve their scores and course placement (as long as they are not already registered for classes in writing, math, or reading).
Students who wish to retest must wait at least 24 hours before starting their retest. The Testing Center strongly encourages all students planning to retest any part of the COMPASS Placement Test to study. Test preparation can be done by visiting these websites dedicated to helping students prepare for the test.
COMPASS Placement Test scores remain valid for two years.
To receive permission to retest, students must first meet with an Academic Advisor to obtain a referral form.
A $20 retest fee will be charged for any test or portion of test taken a second time within a two (2) year period.
No student is permitted to take the test more than two (2) times in two (2) years.
Students can pay the $20 retest fee at one of the locations listed below.
Checks must be payable to Columbus State Community College.
Students must present with a paid receipt and Advisor referral form to the Testing Center staff to take a retest.
