Remote COMPASS Placement Test

Remote COMPASS Placement Testing is available to those students who want to attend or take classes at Columbus State Community College but do not live near one of our campus or regional sites.

To take the remote COMPASS Placement Test, students must have applied to the college, been accepted and received a Cougar Identification number.  

The student is responsible for any fees at the remote COMPASS Placement Test location.

Exception: Remote COMPASS Placement Testing is not available to students who have learned English in countries other than the United States.

These students can submit ACT scores.

  • Minimum score ranges:
         English 18 or higher
         Math 22 or higher
         Reading 21 or higher
  • Visit www.actstudent.org to access and send official ACT scores to the CSCC Admissions Office (3261).  Allow three weeks for receipt of scores.

Complete the form and e-mail, fax, or mail your request. Please allow 5 to 7 business days for your request to be processed. You must include an e-mail address and contact phone number.

Once your request has been received, you will be set up for the remote test at the site you selected within 5 to 7 business days. You will receive email notification of your test from ACT. The notification will include the following information:

  • Registration number
  • Student information
  • Test package
  • Test Center Address Address
         Telephone number
         Remote fee – if any
         Hours
  • Time frame for taking the test
  • Need for appointment
  • Contact information
  • Student responsibilities
  • Additional instructions

Once you have completed your COMPASS Placement Test, CSCC will be notified by ACT that your scores are available. Your scores will be accessed and posted to your CSCC student record. You will receive an email sent to your CSCC student email account from COMPASS@cscc.edu/ with information about your next steps.
