Our Environment

The Columbus State Child Development Center is located on the campus of Columbus State Community College in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Center is housed in a facility that provides over 24,000 square feet of space and houses 2 infant rooms, 3 toddler rooms and 3 preschool rooms.

Each classroom has two full-time teachers and additional classroom assistants to maintain the ratios of:

Classroom Ratio Infants: 4:1
Toddlers: 6:1
Preschoolers: 10:1
Maximum group size per room

Infants: 8
Toddlers: 12
Preschoolers: 20

Child center ratios

The Center also features 3 indoor muscle rooms, an art studio, and a parent-teacher resource room.

A 10,800square-foot playground wraps around the outside of the building, with the space divided to provide designated areas for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. All children go outside at least once a day when the weather allows. When the weather is not suitable for outdoor plan, children participate in large-motor activities indoors.
